Zero Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS)

NOTE: Prior to zeroing OCS, ensure vehicle has not been exposed to temperatures below 42°F (6°C) or above 97°F (36°C), within 4 hours of performing zeroing operation.
Ensure all OCS components are connected and no faults are present when performing zeroing procedure.
Ensure a minimum of 5 seconds has elapsed after cycling ignition switch to ON position before performing zeroing procedure.

Ensure front passenger seat is empty prior to and during zeroing procedure. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See USING SCAN TOOL  . Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use scan tool to trigger active command and zero OCS. Perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .

(1) Replace Restraints Control Module (RCM) and impact sensors.
(2) Light continuous. Ensure battery voltage is less than 16 volts.
(3) Light continuous. Ensure battery voltage is more than 9 volts.
(4) If DTC B1342 and B2296 are active, go to TEST K: RESTRAINT SYSTEM-IMPACT SENSOR STATUS (DTC B2296)  . If DTC B1342 is active, replace RCM.
(5) No light. Tone will sound only if additional DTCs are present.
