Restraints Control Module (RCM): Installation

CAUTION:
RCM large harness connector can be improperly connected. Component or connector damage may result. When connecting RCM large connector, ensure connector position assurance lever is in full release position. Ensure connector is at proper angle when connecting to RCM. Do not push connector where connector position assurance lever pivots and seats itself. Use light pressure to get connector in position. Lightly push connector until subtle click and slight pressure is felt. Engage connector position assurance lever to fully seat connector.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT activate air bag system at this time. Tighten RCM mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all deployable air bag system devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
