Main Control Valve Body - Upper: Disassembly

  1. Remove the separator plate.
    1. Remove the filter from the valve body.
    2. Remove the separator plate.

  2. Remove the two separator plate gaskets from the separator plate.
  3. Remove the check balls.

  4. CAUTION: Do not use metal picks or screwdrivers to remove the valves. Damaged valves can not be replaced. If any of the valves are damaged, the valve body must be replaced.
  5. Remove the valves from the upper control valve body.
    • Clean and inspect all valves and valve body components. If any damaged components are found, install a new valve body.
  6. Measure the valve springs free height.
    • Measure the spring from the outermost point of each end.
  7. Compare measured spring height to the specification. If the free length is out of specification, install a new lower control valve body. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS  .
