Test Q: Panic Alarm Input Circuit Open/Shorted To Power

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect 16-pin Lighting Control Module (LCM) harness connector C2027. LCM is located behind left side of instrument panel. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and LCM harness connector C2027 terminal No. 14 (Red/Light Blue wire). See Figure . If voltage exists, go to next step. If no voltage exists, go to step  3 .
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect 12-pin Driver Door Module (DDM) harness connector C518. DDM is located in driver's door. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and LCM harness connector C2027 terminal No. 14 (Red/Light Blue wire). If voltage exists, repair short to power on Red/Light Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If no voltage exists, go to step  4 .
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect 12-pin Driver Door Module (DDM) harness connector C518. DDM is located in driver's door. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure resistance of Red/Light Blue wire between DDM harness connector C518 terminal No. 3 and LCM harness connector C2027 terminal No. 14. See Figure and Figure . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between ground and DDM harness connector C518 terminal No. 3 (Red/Light Blue wire). Resistance should be more than 10 k/ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If not as specified, repair open or short to ground on Red/Light Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  4. Disconnect all LCM harness connectors. Check all harness connector and LCM harness connectors and terminals. Repair as necessary. Connect all harness connectors. Operate system. If problem still exists, replace LCM. If problem does not exist, test is complete.
