Test F: Restraint Control Module Does Not Respond To Scan Tool

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Deactivate air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Disconnect 11-pin Restraint Control Module (RCM) harness connector C261. Inspect RCM harness connector for loose, damaged or corroded terminals. If problem does not exist, go to next step. If problem exists, repair as necessary and retest system.
  2. Measure resistance of Light Blue/White wire between terminal No. 4 at RCM harness connector C261 and terminal No. 7 at DLC. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace RCM. See RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Blue/White wire between RCM and DLC.
