Test H: Door Locks Are Inoperative Using Remote Transmitter

  1. Operate locks from door lock switches. If door locks operate properly, go to next step. If locks do not operate properly, go to TEST E: ALL DOOR LOCKS INOPERATIVE  .
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below instrument panel. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Depress unlock button on remote transmitter. Check DDM PID TIC/DATA for last remote transmitter signal received. If last remote transmitter received indicates UNLOCK, go to next step. If last remote transmitter received did not indicate UNLOCK, program remote transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING.
  3. Depress lock button on remote transmitter. Check DDM PID TIC/DATA for last remote transmitter signal received. If last remote transmitter received indicates LOCK, go to next step. If last remote transmitter received did not indicate LOCK, program remote transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING.
  4. Disconnect negative battery cable for at least 5 minutes. Reconnect negative battery cable. Using suspect transmitter, press LOCK and UNLOCK buttons repeatedly 8-10 times. If door lock functions operate properly, system is okay at this time. If door lock functions do not operate properly, replace driver door module.
