DTC B2139: Security Identification Does Not Match Between Passive Anti-Theft System & Powertrain Control Module
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Using New Generation Star (NGS) or Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) tester, retrieve and record continuous DTCs. Clear continuous DTCs and perform Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) module self-test. If DTC B2139 is retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2139 is not retrieved, system is okay at this time.
- Perform security access for PATS module. See KEY PROGRAMMING - SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE under PROGRAMMING. Using NGS/WDS tester, select PARAMETER RESET command for PATS module. Perform PCM active command ACTIVE COMMAND KEEP ALIVE MEMORY RESET. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Turn ignition switch to ON position for 30 seconds. Using NGS/WDS tester, clear continuous DTCs. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Using NGS/WDS tester, perform PATS self-test. If DTC B2139 is not retrieved, system is okay at this time. If DTC B2139 is retrieved, verify PCM calibration is correct for vehicle. If calibration is okay, replace PATS module. See PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and retest system operation. If DTC B2139 still exists, replace PCM and retest system operation.
