Pinpoint Test B: No Communication With The Driver Door Module (DDM)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Lincoln Town Car. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- B1 CHECK CIRCUITS 1524 (DB) and 1213 (WH/LB) FOR VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: DDM C501a and C501c.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the DDM, harness side and ground using the following chart:DDM CONNECTOR-PIN SPECIFICATION
DDM Connector-Pin Circuit C501a-2 1213 (WH/LB) C501a-21 1524 (DB) C501c-3 (if equipped with power striker only) 1213 (WH/LB) - Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : GO to B2.
- No : REPAIR the circuit in question. REPEAT the self-test.
- B2 CHECK CIRCUITS 57 (BK) AND 676 (PK/OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between DDM C501a pin 1, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground; and between DDM C501a pin 5, circuit 676 (PK/OG), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to continue diagnosis of the communication network.
- No : REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. REPEAT the self-test.
