Pinpoint Test F: No Communication With The Anti-Lock Brake System (Abs) Module: Overview
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Mariner and 2006 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Use the correct probe adaptor(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adaptor(s) may damage the connector.
- F1 CHECK THE ABS MODULE POWER SUPPLY
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: ABS Module C1462.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between ABS module C1462, harness side and ground as follows:ABS MODULE CONNECTOR-PIN REFERENCE
ABS Module Connector Pin Circuit C1462-1 534 (YE/LG) C1462-17 22 (LB/BK) C1462-29 677 (LB) C1462-32 483 (RD) - Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
Yes: GO to F2.
No: INSPECT BJB fuses 1 (5A), 24 (50A), 31 (50A) or SJB fuse 34 (5A) for an open. If OK, REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. REPEAT the self-test.
- F2 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between ABS module C1462-16, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground; and between ABS module C1462-47, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground.
- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes: CHECK the module communications network. REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to continue diagnosis of the module communications network.
No: REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test.
