Test Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
- A1 - CHECK BJB FUSE 30 (5A)
- Check BJB fuse 30 (5A).
- Is the fuse OK?
- Yes : GO to A2.
- No : INSTALL a new fuse. REPEAT the self-test.
- A2 - CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE FEM MODULE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: FEM Module C201a.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between FEM module C201a-1 circuit 29S-DK21 (OG/WH), harness side and ground
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : GO to A3.
- No : REPAIR circuit 29S-DK21 (OG/WH). REPEAT the self-test.
- A3 - CHECK THE RBJB RELAY 32 COIL GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between FEM module C201b-21, circuit 31S-DK21 (BK/WH), harness side, and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : CHECK the DLC connector and wiring. Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
- No : REPAIR circuit 31S-DK21 (BK/WH). REPEAT the self-test.
