Test 6: Perform KOEO On-Demand Self-Test: Purpose

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2003 Ford RV Cutaway, 2003 Ford Pickup, 2003 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2003 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2003 Ford Excursion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The purpose of this test is to determine if PCM has detected any fault conditions that would cause a hard start or no-start condition.

NOTE: The IDM stores both historical and hard IDM DTCs. To retrieve IDM DTCs, you must perform KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST or KOEO INJECTOR ELECTRICAL TEST. To ensure that DTC is a hard fault, you must first clear Continuous Memory DTCs. Record all DTCs before clearing even though IDM DTCs do not show up on Continuous Memory display. If an IDM DTC is set, repeat KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST. This is a hard fault.
