Pinpoint Test C: The Anti -Lock Brake System (Abs) Control Module Does Not Respond To The Diagnostic Tool

  1. C1 CHECK THE ABS CONTROL MODULE C135 FOR DAMAGE 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: ABS Control Module C135.
    • Inspect the ABS control module C135.
    • Is the ABS control module C135 OK? 
    1. Yes  : GO to C2.
    2. No  : REPAIR the ABS control module C135. CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.
  2. C2 CHECK CIRCUIT 70 (LB/WH) BETWEEN DLC C251 AND ABS CONTROL MODULE C135 FOR AN OPEN 
    • Measure the resistance between the ABS control module C135 pin 16, circuit 70 (LB/WH), harness side and DLC C251 pin 7, circuit 70 (LB/WH), harness side.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : GO to C3.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit. CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.
  3. C3 CHECK FOR CORRECT ABS CONTROL MODULE OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all the ABS control module connectors.
    • Check for:
      • Corrosion
      • Pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the ABS control module connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new ABS control module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK CONTROL . CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.
