Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Ford Pickup, 2006 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2006 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2006 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The ABS module uses the controller area network (CAN). The ABS module monitors the wheel speed readings from each anti-lock brake sensor and processes this information to determine an impending wheel lock-up. If a wheel lock-up is detected, the ABS module modulates the brake pressure to the appropriate brake caliper. For additional information, refer to VEHICLE DYNAMIC SYSTEMS .
