Keyless entry keypad will be illuminated for five seconds when any button is pressed. Additionally, it will request illuminated entry feature to turn courtesy lamps on. If a lock all doors code is entered, illumination will turn off, as well as request illuminated entry feature to turn off courtesy lamps. When pressed, keyless entry keypad supplies ground signal to GEM or GEM receives a signal from keyless entry remote transmitter. Then GEM outputs a ground signal to appropriate lock or unlock relay which supplies power to actuator to lock or unlocks all doors, including luggage compartment or liftgate (wagon). Keyless entry remote transmitter also unlocks liftgate or activates panic alarm by sending a signal to GEM. A personal entry code can be programmed allowing entry using either factory code or personal entry code.
