Disposal Procedures: Notes

NOTE:
Disposal of undeployed air bag may violate federal, state and/or local laws. If scrapping vehicle, air bags must be deployed while mounted in vehicle. If this is not possible, remove air bag and deploy remotely. If air bag cannot be deployed, contact vehicle manufacturer for further instructions.
Air bag disposal may be necessary in following situations:
- Scrapping vehicle with deployed air bag and/or pretensioner.
- Scrapping vehicle with live air bag and/or pretensioner.
- Disposal of a live but electrically faulty air bag module and/or pretensioner.
- Disposal of a deployed air bag module and/or pretensioner.
