AFFECTED VEHICLES
Certain 2001 model year Taurus and Sable flex fuel vehicles equipped with 3.0L engines built at the Atlanta Assembly Plant and the Chicago Assembly Plant from May 3, 2001 through June 8, 2001.
REASON FOR RECALL

SERVICE ACTION
Dealers must reprogram (reflash) the PCM using WDS or NGS.
PLEASE NOTE
Correct all vehicles in stock before delivery. Vehicles with this software error lack a necessary element of emission control design, and vehicles with this error delivered to customers will need to be recalled.
