Test N: Power Sliding Doors Inoperative Using Remote Transmitter
NOTE:

- Press power sliding door switch(es) located in overhead console. If all power sliding doors operate correctly, go to next step. If any power sliding door does not operate correctly, repair appropriate sliding door. See POWER SLIDING DOORS - WINDSTAR article.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located beneath instrument panel, right of steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, monitor Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module function test TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA, and record alpha-numeric codes. If 2 Transmitter Identification Codes (TIC) are stored in individual memory location (TIC1, TIC2, TIC3 or TIC4), go to next step. If 2 TICs are not stored in individual memory location, program remote transmitters. See PROGRAMMING .
- Using NGS tester, monitor RKE module function test TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA, while pressing remote transmitter lock and unlock buttons. If 8-digit alpha-numeric code appears for LAST TIC RECEIVED and LAST DATA RECEIVED matches button pressed, go to next step. If 8-digit alpha-numeric code does not appear for LAST TIC RECEIVED and LAST DATA RECEIVED does not match button pressed, go to step 5 .
- Using NGS tester, monitor RKE module function test TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA, while pressing remote transmitter lock and unlock buttons. If 8-digit alpha-numeric code does not appear for LAST TIC RECEIVED and LAST DATA RECEIVED matches button pressed, go to next step. If 8-digit alpha-numeric code appears for LAST TIC RECEIVED and LAST DATA RECEIVED does not match button pressed, replace remote transmitter batteries. Program remote transmitters. See PROGRAMMING .
- Using NGS tester, monitor RKE module function test TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA. If LAST TIC RECEIVED is one of TICs recorded in step 2 , go to next step. If LAST TIC RECEIVED is not one of TICS recorded in step 2 , program remote transmitters. See PROGRAMMING .
- Using NGS tester, monitor RKE function test TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA, while pressing all buttons on second remote transmitter. If all buttons pressed on second remote transmitter create expected output value, repair power sliding door. See POWER SLIDING DOOR SYSTEM - WINDSTAR article. If any button pressed on second remote transmitter create expected output value, program remote transmitters. See PROGRAMMING .
