- Lock and unlock vehicle using driver's door lock switch. Verify proper lock/unlock operations of each door and liftgate. If all doors and liftgate lock and unlock properly, go to next step. If any door or liftgate door lock does not operate properly, see appropriate test for symptoms present. See SYMPTOM INDEX table. Repair as necessary before proceeding.
- Using scan tool, monitor RKE module function test for TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA. Record 8-digit alpha-numeric codes. If 2 codes exist in individual memory locations (TIC1, TIC2, TIC3 or TIC4), go to next step. If memory locations contain only one code each, reprogram all remote transmitters. See PROGRAMMING .
- While still monitoring RKE module function test for TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA, depress first remote transmitter (primary) LOCK and UNLOCK button's. If an 8-digit alpha-numeric code appears for LAST TIC RECEIVED, and it matches LAST DATA RECEIVED for transmitter button pressed, then go to 5 . If an 8-digit alpha-numeric code does not appear, go to next step.
- Repeat previous step for any additional remote transmitters (secondary). If data received and data displayed match button depressed, transmitter is okay. If door locks are still inoperative, program remote transmitters. See PROGRAMMING .
- Compare LAST TIC RECEIVED, with those previously recorded in step 2 . If any TICs match, go to next step. If TICs do not match, reprogram all transmitters, and retest. See PROGRAMMING .
- Monitor RKE module TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA. If expected values are output while pressing each switch of a secondary remote unit, replace RKE module. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - WINDSTAR article. If values do not match with buttons depressed, reprogram all transmitters. See PROGRAMMING .
