Test A: No Communication With Central Security Module

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Ford Focus and 2000 Ford Focus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Central Security Module (CSM) 16-pin Green connector C451. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and CSM connector C451 terminal No. 1 (Orange/White wire). See Fig 1 . If more than 10 volts exists, go to next step. If less than 10 volts exists, repair open in Orange/White wire between Central Junction Box (CJB) and CSM. Recheck system operation.
  2. Measure resistance between ground and CSM connector C451 terminals No. 5 and 11 (both Black wires). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, see appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article to continue diagnosis. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Recheck system operation.
