Test A: No Communication With Central Security Module
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Ford Focus and 2000 Ford Focus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Central Security Module (CSM) 16-pin Green connector C451. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and CSM connector C451 terminal No. 1 (Orange/White wire). See Fig 1 . If more than 10 volts exists, go to next step. If less than 10 volts exists, repair open in Orange/White wire between Central Junction Box (CJB) and CSM. Recheck system operation.
- Measure resistance between ground and CSM connector C451 terminals No. 5 and 11 (both Black wires). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, see appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article to continue diagnosis. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Recheck system operation.
