Main Control Valve Body-Premain: Assembly

Clean all components with a suitable solvent and use compressed air to dry all parts and clean the fluid passages. Perform the following before assembling:
- Inspect the valves for damage or wear.
- Check for worn or broken springs.

NOTE: Do not compress the spring when measuring it with vernier calipers.

Measure the free length of the bypass valve spring, the 2-3 shift spring, the converter relief spring, and the torque converter clutch (TCC) control valve spring. For spring specifications, use the following spring specification chart.
- If not as specified, replace the spring.

Install the (D) TCC control valve spring, (C) TCC control valve, (B) stop plug, and the (A) stop pin.

Install the (C) converter relief valve, (B) converter relief valve spring and the (A) spring retainer.

Install the (D) 2-3 shift valve spring, (C) bypass valve, (B) stop plug, and the (A) stop pin.

Install the (D) bypass valve spring, (C) 2-3 shift valve, (B) stop plug, and the (A) stop pin.
