Section 272 (Engine): Installation: Engine: Installation

- Install the flywheel.
- Install the bolts.
- Install the engine on the subframe assembly.
- Install the bolts.
- Install the RH engine mount nut.
- Install the LH engine mount bolts.
- Install the six bellhousing bolts.
- Remove the special tools.
- Install the transmission oil level indicator and tube.
- Install the bolt.
- Install the hose retainer.
- Connect the power steering pressure line.
- Position the harness connector.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the wiring harness pin-type retainer.
- Connect the transaxle electrical connectors.
- Position the wiring harness pin-type retainer.
- Position the electrical connector.
- Install the four torque converter nuts.
- Install the inspection cover (7007).
- Install the bolt.
- Install the starter. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Using the special tool, raise the engine, transmission and subframe assembly in the vehicle.
- Install the four subframe bolts.
- Install the RH and LH strut bolts.
- Connect the RH and LH front stabilizer links.
- Install the two nuts.
- Connect the ABS electrical connector.
- Install the ABS sensor wiring harness retainer.
- Install the brake calipers.
- Install the bolts.
- Install the wheels. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES .
- Connect the lower radiator hose.
- Connect the hose.
- Position the clamp.
- Install the dual converter Y-pipe assembly. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
- Connect the steering column.
- Slide the joint downward.
- Install the bolt.
- Position the dust boot.
- Connect the transmission oil cooler tubes.
- Connect the tubes.
- Install the clips.
- Position the hose.
- Install the pin-type retainers.
- Install the hose.
- Connect the power steering oil cooler hose.
- Position the clamp.
- Connect the power steering oil cooler hose.
- Position the clamp.
- Connect the A/C suction/discharge manifold.
- Tighten the bolt.
- Install a new tie strap.
- Connect the ground connector.
- Install the sight shield.
- Install the pin-type retainers.
- Connect the positive cable.
- Install the nut.
- Connect the hose.
- Connect the heater hose.
- Position the clamp.
- Connect the ground connector.
- Install the bolt.
- Connect the fuel lines. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Position the wire harness.
- Connect the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR .
- Position the fuel line retaining clip.
- Connect the degas bottle hose.
- Position the clamp.
- Connect the power steering hose.
- Position the clamp.
- Connect the main engine wire harness ground.
- Install the bolt.
- Connect the PCM.
- Tighten the bolt.
- Install the pin-type retainer.
- Connect the EVAP canister purge valve.
- Connect the vacuum tube.
- Connect the brake booster vacuum hose.
- Position the clamp.
- Connect the EVAP emission return tube.
- Position the shift cable.
- Connect the shift cable to the shift cable bracket.
- Connect the shift cable.
- Connect the engine wire harness 42-pin connector.
- Tighten the bolt.
- Install the heater hose.
- Position the bracket.
- Install the nut.
- Connect the upper radiator hose.
- Reposition the clamp.
- Connect the heater hose.
- Install the accelerator bracket.
- Position the bracket.
- Install the bolt.
- Install the nut.
- Connect the accelerator cable and the speed control actuator cable.
- Install the engine air cleaner and outlet tube.
- Connect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Refill the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Recharge the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Install the cowl. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
