Pinpoint Test AV: The Message Center Switch Tone Chime Is Inoperative

AV1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER SWITCH OPERATION
- Press the message center buttons individually.
- Do the message center buttons change the message center display when pressed?
Yes

GO to AV2.

No

Go To PINPOINT TEST AK: THE MESSAGE CENTER SWITCH DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY .
AV2 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
- Disconnect all the instrument cluster connectors.
- Check for:
  - Corrosion
  - pushed-out pins
- Connect all the instrument cluster connectors and make sure they fully seat.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
Yes

INSTALL a new instrument cluster. Refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.

No

The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
