Recommended Procedure

NOTE: Engine must be at normal operating temperature.

Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn A/C off. Using scan tool, access and monitor ICP PID from PID/DATA MONITOR & RECORD menu. See ADDITIONAL SYSTEM FUNCTIONS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 7.3L DIESEL article. Start engine and raise engine speed to 3400 RPM for 3 minutes. ICP PID reading should be a maximum of 1800 psi (12,411 kPa). If ICP PID reading is more than 1800 psi (12,411 kPa), anti-foam oil additives may have become depleted from oil. Change oil and retest.
