CAUTION:
Prior to replacing GEM, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to New Generation STAR (NGS) tester. After installation this information needs to be downloaded into new GEM. Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Proper grounding of technician and component being worked on is essential to prevent damage.
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES
