PID/Data Monitor & Record

  1. PID/Data Monitor and Record option allows technician using scan tool to read the state of several Parameter IDs (PIDs) to aid in diagnosing the system. See PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION (PID) INDEX & VALUES  table.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under instrument panel near steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Follow manufacturer"s instructions for scan tool being used. PIDs are continuously updated on scan tool display.

P-ABAGR/passenger-side air bag circuit resistance 1.7-3.2 ohms
D-ABAG2/left-side air bag circuit resistance 1.7-3.2 ohms
P-ABAG2/right-side air bag circuit resistance 1.7-3.2 ohms
D-PRTNR/left-side seat belt pretensioner circuit resistance 1.7-3.2 ohms
P-PRTNR/right-side seat belt pretensioner circuit resistance 1.7-3.2 ohms
VBAT/system battery voltage 12-16 volts

(1) AIR BAG warning light on continuously.
(2) Battery voltage low. Diagnose charging system.
(3) Replace RCM. Clear DTCs and repeat on-demand self-test.
(4) Light flash code is not available.
(5) AIR BAG warning light on continuously or tone.
(6) Tone will sound if additional DTCs are present.
(7) AIR BAG warning light flashes 5 times per second.
(8) Reconfigure RCM. See MODULE CONFIGURATION PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS.
(9) Check for correct RCM. If okay, reconfigure RCM.
