WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mercury Monterey and 2004 Ford Freestar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- I1 CHECK CIRCUIT 70 (LB/WH) BETWEEN THE DLC C251 AND THE PARKING AID MODULE FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Parking Aid Module C4014 or C4226. For 8 sensor parking aid module, measure the resistance between the parking aid module C4014-5, circuit 70 (LB/WH), harness side and the DLC C251-7, circuit 70 (LB/WH), harness side.
- For 4 sensor parking aid module, measure the resistance between the parking aid module C4226-8, circuit 70 (LB/WH), harness side and the DLC C251-7, circuit 70 (LB/WH), harness side.
- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to I2.
No
REPAIR the circuit in question. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.
- I2 CHECK FOR CORRECT PARKING AID MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect all the parking aid module connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- push-out pins
- Connect all the parking aid module connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new parking aid module. REFER to INFORMATION, GAUGES & WARNING DEVICES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. CARRY OUT the data link diagnostics test.
