Fuel Pump Module: Installation

    NOTE: If old fuel pump module assembly is being reinstalled, check condition of fuel pump assembly flange seal and install a new flange seal if necessary.
  1. Clean fuel pump module mounting flange and fuel tank mounting surface. Align fuel pump module with fuel tank retainer. Install fuel pump module by pushing downward on module until module tabs click and engage retainer. Align fuel outlet tube to point toward front of vehicle.
  2. Install fuel pump module assembly flange on fuel tank. Install fuel pump module assembly flange bolts finger tight, then tighten in sequence shown in illustration. See Figure. Tighten flange bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To install fuel tank, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fuel tank support strap bolts to specification. Fill fuel tank and check for leaks.
