Pinpoint Test B: No Communication With The Driver Door Module (DDM)
Test Step
B1 CHECK CIRCUIT 797 (LG/VT) FOR VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: DDM C386a.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between DDM C386a pin 29, circuit 797 (LG/VT), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
GO to B2.
No
REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test.
Test Step
B2 CHECK CIRCUIT 171 (BK/WH) FOR VOLTAGE
- Measure the voltage between DDM C386a pin 26, circuit 171 (BK/WH), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
GO to B3.
No
REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test.
Test Step
B3 CHECK CIRCUIT 676 (PK/OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between DDM C386a pin 23, circuit 676 (PK/OG), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
GO to B4.
No
REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test.
Test Step
B4 CHECK CIRCUIT 676 (PK/OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between DDM C386a pin 27, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
GO to B5.
No
REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test.
Test Step
B5 CHECK FOR CORRECT DDM OPERATION
- Disconnect all DDM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all DDM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
Result / Action to Take
Yes
INSTALL a new DDM. REFER to MODULE-DRIVER DOOR (DDM) . TEST the system for normal operation.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
