Main Control Valve Body - Lower: Assembly

    CAUTION: Do not force the valves into the valve body. If any of the valves or the valve body are damaged, the entire valve body must be replaced.
  1. Install of the lower control valve body valves.
    • Lubricate the lower control valve body and valves with Motorcraft MERCON® Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX or equivalent meeting Ford specification MERCON®.
  2. Install the line pressure relief springs.

  3. Install the line pressure check balls.

  4. NOTE: The separator plate is installed with a gasket on each side.
  5. Position the separator plate gasket assembly.
    1. Position the separator plate and gaskets on the valve body.
    2. Position the accumulator support plates.

  6. Install the accumulator support plate bolts.
