Accessing Output Test Mode

To access output test mode using scan tool, perform the following:

Perform necessary vehicle preparation and visual inspections.
Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
Turn ignition on.
Select NEW VEHICLE YEAR & MODEL.
Select year, engine, model and any additional information requested by scan tool.
Select DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK.
Select PCM-POWERTRAIN CTRL MODULE.
Select ACTIVE COMMAND MODES.
Follow operating instructions from scan tool menu.
Select mode (i.e., HIGH SPEED FAN or LOW SPEED FAN).
Select menu option to turn outputs ON (may link up to PIDs).
Select menu option to turn outputs OFF.
