Cylinder Block: Assembly

CAUTION: Moving components must be lubricated with clean engine oil before assembly.
CAUTION: Components with oil holes must be correctly aligned with oil feed holes.
  1. If necessary, install plugs and dowels:
    • Cylinder block dowels (A)
    • Oil gallery plugs (B)
    • Water jacket plugs (C)

  2. Install the block heater, if equipped. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  3. Use the Camshaft Bearing Set to install the engine dynamic balance shaft bearings.

  4. Use the Camshaft Service Set to install the camshaft bearings.

  5. Install the (A) engine dynamic balance shaft bearing cover and the (B) camshaft bearing cover.
