Zeroing Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mercury Monterey and 2004 Ford Freestar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If using Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS), go to step  3 . If using New Generation STAR (NGS) tester, select SERVICE BAY FUNCTIONS, RCM, SYSTEM RESET and select vehicle from menu. View on-screen information, then press TRIGGER.
  2. NGS screen will display OCS RESET: REZERO. Press DONE (button No. 8) to zero OCS system. NGS screen will return to vehicle menu when zeroing procedure is complete. Cycle ignition switch OFF to ON position to complete procedure.
  3. On WDS, select TOOLBOX, BODY, RESTRAINTS, and SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR REZERO. Follow on-screen prompts to carry out zeroing procedure. Cycle ignition switch OFF to ON position to complete procedure.
