Engine Mounts: Installation

- Position the engine mounts and install the bolts.
- Install the starter motor if the RH engine mount was repaired. Refer to STARTERS .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Using a floor crane, remove the Heavy Duty Engine Support.
- Lower the engine and align the engine mount studs.
- Remove the floor crane.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Install the nuts.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the Modular Engine Support Bracket from the engine.
- Install the generator. Refer to GENERATORS & REGULATORS .
- Install the fan shroud.
- Install the throttle body adapter
- Position a new throttle body adapter gasket.
- Position the throttle body adapter.
- Install four bolts and tighten in two stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 85-95 degrees.
- If equipped, connect the EVR solenoid electrical and vacuum harness.
- If equipped, connect the EGR valve vacuum line.
- If equipped, install the EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube.
- Hand-tighten the fittings.
- Tighten the upper fitting to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- Tighten the lower fitting to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- If equipped, install the EGR transducer bracket.
- Position the bracket.
- Install the bolts.
- If equipped, connect the EGR transducer vacuum lines.
- If equipped, connect the EGR transducer and the throttle position sensor connectors.
- Connect the heater hose.
- Connect the idle air control motor electrical connector and the bypass hose.
- Connect the vacuum line.
- Connect the following vacuum lines:
- brake booster
- engine sensor control wiring harness
- Connect the PCV vacuum and coolant hoses.
- Install the accelerator cable bracket.
- Position the bracket and cables.
- Install the bolts.
- Connect the accelerator and speed control cables and return spring.
- Install the accelerator cable splash shield.
- Install the air cleaner outlet tube.
- Connect the battery ground cable.
- Connect the upper radiator hose to the radiator.
- Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to ENGINE COOLING .
