Intake Manifold: Removal

- Release the fuel pressure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Unfasten the cable ties if necessary and install new ones when reinstalling.
- Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the air cleaner housing.
- Pull off the mass air flow (MAF) sensor connector.
- Detach the crankcase ventilation hose.
- Detach the intake hose.
- Pull out the air cleaner housing from the rubber bushings.
- Detach the accelerator cable and the speed control cable (if equipped) from the throttle body.
- Remove the fuel pressure sensor. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
- Detach the EGR valve and EGR pipe bracket.
- Pull off the vacuum hoses.
- Disconnect the fuel injector wiring.
- Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
- Detach the fuel line.
- Remove the engine lifting eye.
- Detach the intake manifold (graphic shows engine removed).
- Remove the intake manifold studs on the front end of the engine.
- Remove the five bolts and two nuts.
