Test C: System Overcharges

  1. Disconnect generator 3-pin harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between positive battery terminal and generator harness connector terminal "A" (Yellow/White wire). See Figure. If voltage is less than 0.5 volt from battery voltage, go to next step. If voltage is 0.5 volt or more from battery voltage, repair circuit between generator and battery. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  2. Inspect ground connections between battery and engine. Ensure generator mounting surfaces are clean and bolts are secure. If problem exists, repair as necessary. If problem does not exist, replace generator.
