Convertible Top System Bleeding
Material
- With the convertible top closed and unlatched, detach the well sling interior trim cover.
- Disconnect the rear window defrost grid electrical connector locator from the body.
- Disconnect the rear window defrost grid electrical connector and route the wire out through the hole in the well sling interior trim cover.
- Remove the ground bolt for the rear window defrost grid.
- Route the rear window defrost grid ground wire out through the hole in the well sling interior trim cover.
- Position the well sling interior trim cover aside.
- Position aside the motor noise reduction shroud.
- Remove the fill plug at the end of the motor assembly.
- Fill the motor assembly with MERCON® Multi-purpose Automatic Transmission Fluid to the bottom of the fill hole and install the fill plug.
- Operate the convertible top switch until the lift cylinders are fully extended and then fully retracted. Repeat this procedure three times.
- Remove the fill plug and check the fluid level. Fill the motor assembly with MERCON® Multi-Purpose Automatic Transmission Fluid to the bottom of the fill hole.
- Install the fill plug.
- Position the motor noise reduction shroud.
- Route the rear window defrost grid ground wire through the hole in the well sling interior trim cover.
- Install the rear window defrost grid ground bolt.
- Route the rear window defrost grid wire through the hole in the well sling interior trim cover.
CAUTION:
Do not attempt to disconnect the rear window defrost grid connector from the rear window glass.
NOTE:
Some noise squeal may be noticed due to the air in the system.
