Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the fuel tank (9002). For additional information, refer to FUEL TANK .
  2. Clean the area around the fuel pump mounting flange.
  3. Remove the fuel module connections:
    • Disconnect the fuel fittings. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .

  4. If repair or installation of new fuel lines or a new electrical harness is necessary, remove the fuel lines or harness from the fuel tank retaining clips and remove the appropriate assembly.

  5. Using the special tool, remove the fuel module retaining ring.

  6. CAUTION: The fuel delivery module must be handled carefully to avoid damage to the float arm and filter.
  7. Remove the fuel delivery module from the fuel tank.
  8. NOTE: Make sure that the areas around the fuel delivery mounting area and the fuel delivery module flange are clean.
    NOTE: When installing the fuel delivery module, make sure to align locator tabs on the fuel tank mounting flange.

  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
