Pinpoint Test L: Panic Feature Is Inoperative: Overview

- L1 CHECK FEM INPUT
- Key in OFF position.
- Connect the diagnostic tool.
- Key in ON position.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Monitor the FEM panic PID.
- Press the PANIC button while monitoring the FEM panic PID.
- Does the FEM panic PID indicate PANIC?
- Yes : REFER to ANTI-THEFT - LS to diagnose the alarm.
- No : GO to L2.
- L2 CHECK THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID RELEASE BUTTON WITH THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Monitor the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
- Press the luggage compartment lid release button on the remote transmitter while monitoring the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
- Does last received data indicate TRUNK?
- Yes : GO to L5.
- No : GO to L3.
- L3 CHECK THE BATTERY IN THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER
- Install a new battery in the remote transmitter.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Monitor the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
- Press the luggage compartment lid release button on the remote transmitter while monitoring the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
- Does last received data indicate TRUNK?
- Yes : TEST all remote transmitter functions. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- No : GO to L4.
- L4 CHECK THE PROGRAMMING OF THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER
- Reprogram the remote transmitter. Refer to REMOTE TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING .
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Monitor the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
- Press the luggage compartment lid release button on the remote transmitter while monitoring the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
- Does last received data indicate TRUNK?
- Yes : The remote transmitter was not programmed. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- No : PROGRAM a new remote transmitter to the vehicle REFER to REMOTE TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING . CLE AR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- L5 CHECK FOR CORRECT DDM OPERATION
- Disconnect all DDM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all DDM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new DDM REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
