Pinpoint Test O: The Luggage Compartment Lid Is Inoperative Using The Remote Transmitter: Overview

NOTE: The luggage compartment lid key cylinder will not arm/disarm the perimeter alarm. Once armed, the perimeter alarm can only be disarmed using the remote transmitter or the driver set/reset switch.
  1. O1 TEST THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID REMOTE SWITCH 
    • Press the luggage compartment lid remote switch.
    • Did the luggage compartment lid open? 
    1. Yes  : GO to O2.
    2. No  : Go To PINPOINT TEST A  to diagnose the inoperative luggage compartment lid from the remote switch.
  2. O2 CHECK THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID RELEASE BUTTON WITH THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Connect the diagnostic tool.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Monitor the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
    • Press the luggage compartment lid release button on the remote transmitter while monitoring the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
    • Does last received data indicate TRUNK? 
    1. Yes  : GO to  O5.
    2. No  : GO to O3.
  3. O3 CHECK THE BATTERY IN THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER 
    • Install a new battery in the remote transmitter.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Monitor the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
    • Press the luggage compartment lid release button on the remote transmitter while monitoring the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
    • Does last received data indicate TRUNK? 
    1. Yes  : TEST all remote transmitter functions. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
    2. No  : GO to O4.
  4. O4 CHECK THE PROGRAMMING OF THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER 
    • Reprogram all the remote transmitters. Refer to REMOTE TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING .
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Monitor the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
    • Press the luggage compartment lid release button on the remote transmitter while monitoring the DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA.
    • Does last received data indicate TRUNK? 
    1. Yes  : The remote transmitter was not programmed. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
    2. No  : PROGRAM a new remote transmitter to the vehicle REFER to REMOTE TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
  5. O5 CHECK FOR CORRECT DDM OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all DDM connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all DDM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL1 a new DDM REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
