Description And Operation: Lifting: Notes

WARNING: All four hoist contact points must contact the designated vehicle lifting locations, identified by a triangle stamped in the unibody sheet metal. Using other areas to lift the vehicle may cause damage to the vehicle. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
CAUTION: Do not allow the hoist adapters to contact the halfshafts or front wheel driveshaft and joints, steering linkage, suspension arms, stabilizer bar, or compress the stabilizer bar link insulators. Damage to suspension, exhaust and steering linkage components may occur if care is not exercised when positioning the hoist adapters of two-post hoists prior to lifting the vehicle.
CAUTION: Under no circumstances should the vehicle ever be lifted by the front or rear control arms, halfshafts or front wheel driveshaft and joints. Severe damage to the vehicle could result.
NOTE: Adapters may be necessary to clear vehicle components to lift the vehicle safely. The adapters must be placed at the four designated contact points. Position the adapters so they are centered on the adapter contact area.

Refer to the applicable procedure in this section to lift the vehicle.
