Test N: Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Out Of Synchronization

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: After making any repairs, retest system for proper operation.
  1. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below driver's side of instrument panel, right of steering column. Using NGS tester, retrieve continuous DTCs. Clear DTCs. Perform Central Security Module (CSM) self-test. If no DTCs are retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2425 is retrieved, go to step  3.
  2. Check operation of all Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters by pressing any button on any RKE transmitter 4 times consecutively. If all RKE transmitters operate system correctly, clear all DTCs and perform CSM self-test. If any RKE transmitter(s) does not operate system correctly, reprogram defective RKE transmitter and go to next step. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING.
  3. Press any button on operative RKE transmitter. Within 30 seconds, press any button on inoperative RKE transmitter. If RKE transmitter operates normally, test system for proper operation. If transmitter does not operate normally, go to TEST H: DOORS DO NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER .
