Driver-Side Air Bag Module: Installation

- To install, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT activate air bag system at this time. When installing air bag module in steering wheel, align 4 air bag module springs to steering wheel seats. At top, springs will align into cups. At bottom, springs will align around pins. Ensure spring clip is behind tabs.
- Ensure steering wheel back cover is seated all the way around in steering wheel mating groove. Tighten steering wheel gear drive to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Remove air bag simulator from driver-side air bag module connector and reconnect connector. Close access door.
- Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all remaining deployable air bag system devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
