No audio unit illumination
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
 REFER to INFORMATION, GAUGES AND WARNING DEVICES .
No communication with the audio unit-CDX6 and DM100i Only
  • Central junction box (CJB) fuses:
    • 2 (5A).
    • 18 (20A).
    • 27 (10A).
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuses:
    • 22 (20A).
    • 25 (40A).
  • J1850 communication network.
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST A .
The audio unit is inoperative/does not operate correctly
  • Central junction box (CJB) fuses:
    • 2 (5A).
    • 18 (20A).
    • 27 (10A).
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuses:
    • 22 (20A).
    • 25 (40A).
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST B .
The audio unit does not operate correctly-Display Is Frozen or No Graphics Are Displayed-Vehicle Navigation Radio (VNR) Only
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
  • Navigation system module.
 REFER to ELECTRONIC FEATURES .
Poor reception
  • Antenna.
  • Antenna connections.
  • Noise suppression equipment.
  • Antenna module.
  • Audio unit.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST C .
Radio reception is poorer with the defroster activated
  • Defroster grid
 INSPECT the defroster grid for damaged grid lines. REPAIR as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation. If the concern is still present, Go To PINPOINT TEST C .
Continuous SEEK/SCAN in AM/FM
  • Antenna.
  • Antenna connections.
  • Noise suppression equipment.
  • Antenna module.
  • Audio unit.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST C .
Poor quality/distorted sound from one or more speakers (not all speakers)-DM100i
  • Speaker(s).
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST D .
Poor quality/distorted sound from one or more speakers (not all speakers)-CDX6
  • Central junction box (CJB) fuse 18 (20A).
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse 25 (40A).
  • Speaker(s).
  • Circuitry.
  • Center imaging amplifier.
  • Audio unit.
  • Subwoofer amplifier.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST E .
Poor quality/distorted sound from one or more speakers (not all speakers)-vehicle navigation radio (VNR)
  • Speaker(s).
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio amplifier.
  • Audio unit.
  • Subwoofer amplifier.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST F .
Poor quality/distorted sound from all speakers
  • Audio unit.
 If the audio unit illuminates Go To PINPOINT TEST B .
If the audio unit does not illuminate, REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . TEST the system for normal operation.
No sound from one or more of the speakers (not all speakers)-DM100i
  • Speaker(s).
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST D .
No sound from one or more of the speakers (not all speakers)-CDX6
  • Central junction box (CJB) fuse 18 (20A).
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse 25 (40A).
  • Speaker(s).
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
  • Center imaging amplifier.
  • Subwoofer amplifier.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST E .
No sound from one or more of the speakers (not all speakers)-vehicle navigation radio (VNR)
  • Speaker(s).
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
  • Audio amplifier.
  • Subwoofer amplifier.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST F .
No sound from all speakers
  • Audio unit.
 If the audio unit illuminates Go To PINPOINT TEST B .
If the audio unit does not illuminate REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized audio system repair facility. REFER to AUDIO UNIT . TEST the system for normal operation.
The subwoofer is inoperative-CDX6 and vehicle navigation radio (VNR) only
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse 18 (20A).
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse 18 (30A) - VNR.
  • Circuitry.
  • Subwoofer.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST G .
The auxiliary audio control is inoperative/does not operate correctly-steering wheel control switches
  • Circuitry.
  • Audio unit.
  • Steering wheel control switches.
  • Horn switch.
  • Clockspring.
  • PCM
 Go To PINPOINT TEST H .
Loud popping sound when cycling the key-CDX6 and vehicle navigation radio (VNR) only
  • Subwoofer.
