Steering Column: Installation

  1. Install the steering column and loosely install the steering column support bolt. Install and tighten the nuts to specification.

  2. Tighten the steering column support bolt.

  3. Connect the steering column shaft to the flexible coupling and install a new the pinch bolt/nut.

  4. Position the boot.

  5. Connect the electrical connectors.

  6. If equipped, connect the selector lever shift cable to the lever and bracket.

  7. Connect the multifunction switch and headlamp switch electrical connectors.

  8. Secure the harness to the gearshift housing.

  9. Connect the passive anti-theft system (PATS) transceiver module electrical connector and install the pin-type retainer.

  10. Install the trim panel.

  11. Install the air bag sliding contact. For additional information, refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
