Removal And Installation: Notes

NOTE: The removal of the seal is removed in two pieces. When installing the seal it is installed as one piece.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .

NOTE: Discard the old fasteners and install new fasteners when assembling components.

Fig 1: Disconnecting RH Knuckle Assembly

Disconnect the RH knuckle assembly.
1. Disconnect the RH tie rod assembly.
2. Disconnect the RH sway bar assembly.
3. Disconnect the lower control arm.

NOTE: The use of mechanic's wire will aid in positioning the halfshafts out of the way.

Using the special tools, remove the RH halfshaft from the transaxle and position it out of the way.

NOTE: Discard the old fasteners and install new fasteners when assembling components.

Disconnect the LH knuckle assembly.
1. Disconnect the LH tie rod assembly.
2. Disconnect the LH sway bar assembly.
3. Disconnect the lower control arm.

NOTE: The use of mechanic's wire will aid in positioning the halfshafts out of the way.

Using the special tools, remove the LH halfshaft from the transaxle and position it out of the way.
Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
