Convertible Top System Bleeding

Mercon® Multi-Purpose ATF XT-2-QDX	MERCON

With the convertible top closed and unlatched, detach the well sling interior trim cover.

CAUTION: Do not attempt to disconnect the rear window defrost grid connector from the rear window glass.

Disconnect the rear window defrost grid electrical connector locator from the body.
Disconnect the rear window defrost grid electrical connector and route the wire out through the hole in the well sling interior trim cover.
Remove the ground bolt for the rear window defrost grid.

Route the rear window defrost grid ground wire out through the hole in the well sling interior trim cover.
Position the well sling interior trim cover aside.
Position aside the motor noise reduction shroud.

Remove the fill plug at the end of the motor assembly.

Fill the motor assembly with Mercon® Multi-purpose Automatic Transmission Fluid to the bottom of the fill hole and install the fill plug.

NOTE: Some noise squeal may be noticed due to the air in the system.

Operate the convertible top switch until the lift cylinders are fully extended and then fully retracted. Repeat this procedure three times.
Remove the fill plug and check the fluid level. Fill the motor assembly with Mercon® Multi-Purpose Automatic Transmission Fluid to the bottom of the fill hole.

Install the fill plug.

Position the motor noise reduction shroud.

Route the rear window defrost grid ground wire through the hole in the well sling interior trim cover.
Install the rear window defrost grid ground bolt.
