Pinpoint Test F: No Communication With The Anti-Lock Brake System (Abs) Module

CAUTION: Use the correct probe adaptor(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adaptor(s) may damage the connector.

F1 CHECK THE ABS MODULE POWER SUPPLY

Key in OFF position.
Disconnect: ABS Module C1462.
Key in ON position.

Measure the voltage between the ABS module C1462, harness side and ground as follows:

ABS Module Connector Pin	Circuit
C1462-1	534 (YE/LG)
C1462-17	22 (LB/BK)
C1462-29	677 (LB)
C1462-32	483 (RD)

Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?

Yes : GO to F2.
No : INSPECT BJB fuses 1 (5A), 24 (50A), 31 (50A) or SJB fuse 34 (5A) for an open. If OK, REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. REPEAT the self-test.

F2 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between the ABS module C1462-16, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground; and between the ABS module C1462-47, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground.

- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : CHECK the module communications network. REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to continue diagnosis of the module communications network.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test.
