    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new speed control actuator. REFER to SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : If automatic transaxle, GO to I2.

If manual transaxle, GO to  I4.

  2. I2 CHECK THE TRANSMISSION RANGE (TR) SENSOR
    • Fully apply the parking brake.
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: TR Sensor C167.
    • Select NEUTRAL.
    • Measure the resistance between the TR sensor C167-9, component side and the TR sensor C167-4, component side.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
    • Yes  : GO to I7.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  7. I7 CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM MODULE OPERATION
    • Disconnect the PCM connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect the PCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still presents?
