Main Control Valve Body: Disassembly
- Remove the SSA and the SSC clamp and SSA and SSC solenoid.
- Remove the solenoid clamp screw.
- Remove the solenoid clamp.
- Remove the SSA and SSC solenoids.
- Remove the SSB, SSD, TCC and the EPC solenoid.
- Remove the solenoid clamp screw.
- Remove the solenoid clamp.
- Remove the SSB, SSD, TCC and the EPC solenoids.
- Rotate the main control valve body so that the main control separating plate is facing up.
- Remove the valve body separator plate screws.
- Remove valve body separator plate.
- Remove the extension housing lube orifice.
- Remove the black plastic converter relief valve and spring.
- Remove the four main control valve body check balls.
- If the main control requires cleaning, completely disassemble the main control. Refer to the MAIN CONTROL EXPLODED VIEW in this procedure.
CAUTION:
The SSC solenoid may pop out of its bore. This may damage the solenoid.
CAUTION:
The torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid may pop out of its bore. This may damage the solenoid.
CAUTION:
The converter modulator valve may come out after the TCC solenoid. This may cause damage to the valve.
CAUTION:
Valves may come out when rotating the main control valve body.
CAUTION:
The extension housing lube orifice and relief valves may stick to the separator plate.
NOTE:
The main control separator plate has a bonded gasket.
