Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Mercury Milan, 2011 Lincoln MKZ, and 2011 Ford Fusion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: This procedure applies to Fusion/Milan with Sony® sound and MKZ with THX® sound only. For all other amplifiers, refer to the appropriate procedure in this service information.
    NOTE: Module configuration is required when a new audio Digital Signal Processing (DSP) module is being installed.
  1. Upload the audio DSP module configuration information to the scan tool. For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) in MODULE CONFIGURATION -- FUSION MILAN & MKZ article.
  2. Remove the 4 pushpins and the RH luggage compartment trim panel.
  3. Disconnect the audio DSP module electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the 3 bolts and the audio DSP module.
    • To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
